Cement production grew last year
Domestic cement production increased by 15% to 3.8 million tons last year, while sales of this commodity on the domestic market increased by 5% to about 3 million tons. The data has been published by the Czech Cement Association.

May in Czech Republic: industry +15.2%, building -4.9%
According to recent statistics, the level of domestic production of building materials in the Czech Republic in May 2011 decreased by 4.9% over the same last year period, thereby reducing the rate of decline after the April 6%. Number of handed flats in May dropped by 18.8%, but during the same month were begun to build by 6.4% more flats. "Building in the region is still in the doldrums due to lack of personal and social investments", - says the analyst of the bank ČSOB Peter Dufek. In his view, the situation could improve only in the construction of apartment buildings, but in general the forecast is very pessimistic.
Czech Republic: Future problems due to budget reductions
The expenditures planned from the state budget for transportation will be most limited next year according to the minister Dobes drawdown of grants from the European Union also. Minister of Transport says that in future years will be a big problem with financing the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure. The priority is for the Minister of Reconstruction D1 route.
